James Marshall

James Marshall
Founder and CEO of Kibo, James is also the founder and CEO of Berge Bulk Limited – one of the world’s leading dry bulk shipping companies – and Chairman of The Marshall Foundation, which supports philanthropic ventures globally. He is controlling shareholder and Deputy Chairman of DPC Dash Ltd – a Hong Kong listed company which operates as Domino's Pizza's exclusive master franchisee for China.
James has an MA from the University of Cambridge and an MBA from the International Institute for Management Development (IMD).
Outside of work James enjoys skiing, kitesurfing, good food and travel.
Bernard Fung

Bernard Fung
Bernard has overall responsibility to ensure Kibo Invest runs as well as can be in all that we aim to do. Recruited into Kibo in 2021, he was previously a managing director and head of family office services and wealth planning at Credit Suisse for a decade, based in Singapore. In the decade before to that, Bernard served as chief executive of the investment office of Lord Sainsbury of Turville, based in London. Prior to that, he was based in New York where he was managing director of an independent venture capital fund anchored by several significant agro-industrial families on both sides of the Atlantic.
Bernard holds degrees in law and commerce from the Australian National University.
In his free time, Bernard rehabilitates old laptops to give them new leases of useful life – something he has been doing for almost two decades.
Matthew Ridgwell
Private Equity
Matthew Ridgwell
Matthew has responsibility for Kibo's Private Equity investments. He sits on the board of DPC Dash Ltd., the franchisee of Domino's Pizza in China, which is Kibo's largest single investment to date and is held by Good Taste Limited. He has been advising on private equity investing since arriving in Singapore in 2011, prior to which he spent a decade in Belgium as a successful wireless telecoms entrepreneur and co-owner of a manufacturing business in Sweden. He started his career with the Swire Group in 1988 and spent nine years with the group mainly in Taiwan, but also in Japan, New Zealand and Hong Kong. He grew up in Malaysia.
Matthew holds an MBA (with honours) from IMD and a BA from Oxford University.
In his free time, Matthew enjoys sport and has a variety of esoteric interests.
Peter Kenyon
Kibo Impact
Peter Kenyon
Peter has responsibility for Kibo’s impact investments. He is also Director of the Marshall Foundation. Prior to joining Kibo Invest, Peter was the Director of Finance and Administration at Tree Global Inc. and has worked for NGOs, Foundations and in management consulting with Booz Allen & Hamilton. Peter also has experience as an entrepreneur. He started his career at the Swire Group, working in Taiwan, Hong Kong and Germany.
Peter holds an MBA (with honours) from Stanford University Graduate School of Business and an MA in Natural Sciences from the University of Cambridge.
In his free time, Peter enjoys playing tennis, golf, skiing, travel, and hopes to learn to play padel soon.
Kornel Tetera

Kornel Tetera
Kornel started his career at Barclays in London and New York, and his experience spans across early to growth stage equity investing, investment banking, and capital markets transactions. Over the recent years Kornel has led multiple investments into innovative companies addressing the urgent challenges posed by climate change.
Kornel holds an MBA from INSEAD in 2018 and his bachelor's degree in business administration from The University of Texas at Austin in 2011.
In his free time, Kornel enjoys the outdoors and running.
Cheah Yy

Cheah Yy
Leveraging her experience as an equity research analyst at J.P. Morgan and UBS, Cheah conducts in-depth research and analysis to identify potential investment opportunities that align with Kibo's strategic objectives. Prior to joining Kibo Invest, she covered diverse sectors and equity strategies across the ASEAN region.
Cheah holds an MSc degree from Imperial College London and a MORSE BSc from the University of Warwick.
In her free time, Cheah enjoys staying active by working out and doing water sports.
Zachary Lim

Zachary Lim
Zachary assists the team in assessing value in investments. He joined Kibo Invest after his undergraduate studies.
Zachary holds a BEng from the National University of Singapore.
In his free time, Zachary enjoys going for walks and cooking for family and friends.
